Diazonium salts as coupling reagents for active-substance synthesis

  • Cost-effective one-pot reactions with diazonium salts in metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions
  • The use of diazonium salts can both reduce the number of synthetic steps and considerably increase reaction yields
  • Increased efficiency by avoiding protecting groups

Flame retardants - New class of halogen-free compounds

  • New halogen-free flame retardants with broad applicability
  • Replacement of toxic bromine compounds possible
  • Good solubility and high stability
  • Cost-effective production through short synthetic routes
  • Low rates of migration in polymers

Impact Modifier - Polymer additive on basis of nano technology

  • Nano structure from polyurethan
  • Cost-effective production due to polymerisation in reactive diluents
  • Increased transparency of the polymers
  • Improved impact strength, scratch resistance as well as pull-out and shear strength

Innovative preservative / disinfection agents

  • Consists out of cost-effective compounds (benzoic acid, sorbic acid) with food grades
  • Mode of action is based on compound activation of long-term stable micelles
  • Areas of application are the disinfection of food packages, in the industrial cleaning sector and in hospitals

New gypsum mixture - Improvement of the physical properties of gypsum

  • The use of this new gypsum mixture considerably improves the bending tensile strengths of current gypsum
  • Water absorption of plasterboard is reduced

Organic semi-conductors - Efficient production of high-stability substances

  • Cost-effective production of tetracene compounds for organic light-emitting diodes
  • Soluble in organic solvents
  • Ideal properties such as durability and conductivity since not prone to oxidation

Oxidation of olefines - New procedure for higher valuable plastic precursors

  • For the first time, butylene oxide and other longer-chain epoxides can also be produced on an industrial scale using this procedure in addition to ethylene oxide and propylene oxide
  • The procedure is based on a highly efficient direct oxidation process using ozone
  • Very high yields and selectivities have been achieved
  • The procedure can be scaled up to large-scale industrial production

Phosphanes - Efficient chiral catalysts

  • Highly effective catalysis of chiral hydrogenations and C-C coupling reactions
  • The new catalyst system enables very high enatiomeric excesses

Phosphanes - Efficient procedure for coupling heterocycles

  • The procedure enables economizing to be done in the production of numerous pharmaceuticals, since the number of synthetic steps can be reduced and higher yields are achieved
  • Easy access and simple separation with high purity during the procedure
  • Use of trialkylsilyl-substituted heterocycles with halogen-substituted aromatic compounds possible without catalyst system

Pulp production from one-year biomass such as wheat straw, bagasse, etc.

  • New and highly efficient chemical procedure for paper pulp manufacturing
  • The procedure is a closed-cycle process, thus setting new standards in terms of efficiency and environmental compatibility
  • The procedure can be used with straw, bagasse and other kinds of biomass
  • By-products such as lignin can be cleanly separated and additionally marketed as high-quality products

Raw sausage - Improvement of the ripening process and of cut resistance through folic acid

  • By adding folic acid during the ripening process, the use of starter cultures is no longer necessary
  • The ripening process is made considerably more efficient, since aroma and cut resistance are attained more quickly and mold formation is improved
  • In addition to the financial advantages of the production process, folic acid also has health-promoting effects

Sugar melting - New continuous process

  • New process derived from fluid dynamics, which enables sugar melting at a very high qualitative level in a continuous process
  • In the process, both carbonization and time-consuming cleaning can be avoided, thus contributing to cost-effective production
