IPB AG - a market leader for patent value funds
With a managed asset volume of over 200 million euros, IPB AG is the market leader in the field of patent investment funds. Since the start of 2005 we have been involved with patent value funds on behalf of leading banks.
Previously created and managed patent value funds:
Patent investment funds are closed funds with a term of 6 - 8 years, usually created by banks. These obtain the rights to patents and their commercialization after development via licensing or sale. The aim of these funds is to generate the largest possible profit for investors from the proprietary rights.
The advantages of participating in a patent investment fund:
- Patent value funds invest directly in the principle value generator of many companies - their patents and technologies. As an investor you thus obtain an "asset deal" and not a "share deal"
- By excluding company-related risks (e.g. with start-ups) and diversifying broadly across various technologies, there is a significant reduction in risk for you as an investor compared with individual investments in the venture capital market
- Patent investment funds offer attractive earnings and risk profiles
