In 2006 a well-known German bank sold Germany's first preselected patent value fund. Beside this, public platforms for IP transactions habe come into focus in the United States. In Europe, IP Auctions GmbH launched its first IP auction in May 2007. IP is no longer just nice to have. It has left behind its image of being just additional collateral, and become an asset, separately valuable and tradable.
