IPB in Europe

IPB international investment

With a position in the top ten of PCT applications, European countries dominate the ranking. Germany, France, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden are the six leading European countries out of the top ten.

Considering the list of the users of the PCT system, the Dutch multinational Philips Electronics N.V. with 2,041 applications published in 2007 and the Finnish Nokia (822) are ranked in the top ten.

As Europe is amongst the leading areas concerning PCT applications, IPB has established three liaison offices in London, Lausanne and Helsinki to be as close to the market and decision makers as possible. To strengthen the international network, IPB is planning to open another three offices across the continent.

Selected patents

  • Solar absorber*: The invention concerns a production procedure of slective coating for solar panels. Similar to ordinary, black painted collector surfaces, solar panels absorb the majority of sunrays and convert them into heat. Additionally, solar-selective layers diminish heat loss drastically by irradiation of the infrared prismatic area. Through reduction of heat loss, solar-selective layers generate further useful heat especially at high collector operating temperatures.
  • Biopolymers*: The presented invention deals with the microbiological preparation consisting of Polyhydroxyalkanoatic (PHA)biopolymers. According to the invention, the genetic modification releases the PHA-polymers from the inside of the cell into the nutrient solution, from which renditonal and filtrational processes can be obtained.
  • Organic semiconductors*: The presented invention refers to a new method of synthesis regarding the application of the Oligo-Tetracenes, a so-called organic semiconductor. According to the invention, Oligo-Tectracenes can be used for a variety of electronic purposes. A possibility is, for example, the application as an organic light-emitting diode (OLED short form for "organic light-emitting diode")
  • Cellulose from biomass: MEA extraction*
  • Cell catalyst: biotechnological active substance factory*
  • New method for direct oxidation of olefins*
  • Organic electronics: manufacturing technology of the 2nd generation*
  • Magnetic inductive flow rate measurement*
